Word to the Wise

A very sad story from Columbia county where the 83-year-old mayor of McNeil was murdered in his home, apparently by his granddaughter and her boyfriend.

The AP reports: she recently served prison time after being convicted of her husband's death. According to the affidavit, witnesses have said Bolton was to receive money from Ward's estate, and Smith was to receive $1 million from Bolton for killing Ward.

All I'm saying is that if you have a granddaughter who has previously been convicted of killing her husband, it might not be the wisest idea to set up a situation for her to profit if you are dead. She's clearly not too upset about the prospect of helping someone along in the death process.
