Bird Bounty

Because there are all these people in the scientific community who seem to need evidence before declaring the Ivory Billed Woodpecker officially back from the dead, an interested party is now offering a $10,000 reward for such proof.

These scientists are such sticklers about these things. They refuse to just simply believe, like the rest of the state of Arkansas, that this bird is there, he's just shy.

According to the AP Biologists will only pursue reports that include a photograph, sound recording or other substantive evidence.
Don't they know an entire cottage industry has sprung up around the mere idea of this bird? We don't need photos or sound recordings or other substantive evidence! We have ourselves some faith. A belief, if you will, that will not be shaken just because some Yankee scientists say they can't track the blasted bird down. More importantly, we have commerce in an area that hasn't seen much of that in a long time.

No one much cares if this bird turns out to be the Loch Ness monster, big foot or the Easter bunny. We'll happily take your money while you come search the big woods for him.
