From the file of making a hometown girl proud: a River Valley man pleaded guilty to robbery after his attempts to convince a judge that he simply “found” some money at a convenience store failed.
Byron Palmer, 44, of Russellville told Circuit Judge Dennis Sutterfield that he thought his luck had changed when he discovered an open bag of money lying on the floor in the back of a convenience store.
The judge and local authorities had a different interpretation.
Seems the official version goes something like, he took a bag of money from the manger’s office that didn’t belong to him. Now he’s going to spend some time in the pokey.
