A quick look through the newspapers this morning brought a couple of gems to light:
These amusing news stories come to us from the Northwest corner of the state, where apparently mothers are driving people to drink. The crack reporting staff of the Morning News lets us know that, Statistically it's safer to drive in Springdale on New Year's Eve than the Mother's Day weekend, according to information from the City Attorney's office.
Then a little further north up the highway, it seems the theives are not so smart. According to the Benton County Daily Record, Bentonville police arrested Ashley Dawn Dover, 20, of Bentonville, after she attempted to use a stolen credit card and checkbook to pay for items at the Wal-Mart Supercenter at 406 S. Walton Blvd. The associate immediately noticed the items were stolen — because they were hers.
I offer no commentary on either of these stories, except to say from a statistical point of view, both of these tickle my funny bone.
